In autumn/winter 2024, I had one of my most enjoyable teaching experiences: working with students from across the world to interrogate writing creatively with folklore. We looked at a variety of different folkloric elements, from mythical creatures to traditional narratives, but also considered the ethics of representation. As is often the case with folklore, I was a student, too, learning a great deal and finding a whole host of new inspiration.

As with all Comma short story courses, students were invited to put forward their best work produced during the course for an e-book. The result is now on sale through the Kindle store, and you can find it here - a snip at 99p!

I loved seeing these stories develop over the months, and now I can revisit them any time I like. If you're a folklore fan, then you will, too.
